I’m going to consult with my vet if these don’t go down, so please don’t come at me 🥹.

I noticed my horse had these hard, small, bony lumps on her spine after riding today.

She wasn’t sensitive to me palpating these with fair pressure. They have just popped up. My veterinary physio has never raised any concerns about her back.

Her saddle has also recently been checked by a SMS saddler. It’s a fairly recent Albion with a wide channel (I can fit my fist and then some in the channel), so I can’t see how it would have placed pressure anywhere near her spine 😵‍💫.

I don’t think it’s fluid, they are really quite hard.

Sorry, photos are crap 💩.

Dex has something that looks a bit like the top photo but further back and I asked my vet who was out at the time, and he looked at me and said 'yes, that should be there, that's his spine'

If yours are new then I would query it as you are, but I felt like a right knob 😂
Well part of me wonders whether it's always been like that but I have been anything but observant! She isn't a stoic horse, so if it was hurting, there is no way she'd have let me push down on them hard.
