Has anyone tried one of these?

Looks a good idea, although I know a horse who would delight in taking it out and using it as a frisbee

Yes, I'd probably find one of mine wearing it!

I wouldn't trust might with a large peice of metal!!

However I just bought a very large tub from Wickes and I am filling that with hay. Successful so far as it stop him from dunking his hay in his water... only cost £9.99

Frisbee Fun!
Mine flings his large heavy rubber feed skip over the door whne he has eaten, so this would be easy. even if heavy,to lift or tilt.
Other cob has lifted a whole bale of hay in his teeth and tried to carry it away.! So he would do likewise.
Thye woud alos have heads inside a bin, so inhaling any residue off the hay, so only well steamed or haylage would be suitable

Do you fix the bin to something or is it free standing? I think mine would have trashed the bin within the first week although if they are fixed to somethin I could do with a shetland sized one

Looks like a good idea. Im looking for something along these lines as Im fed up with hay blowing away / being trampled into the ground or having to do haynets which I think are dangerous out in the field.

However £38?! Rather pricey!! Especially considering Id need several since I have 5 horses...

It's an interesting idea but do you think some horses might be a bit spooky about the idea of having their head at the bottom of a dustbin? I have fed some who are not overly impressed by a deep trug in case a lion creeps up on them.
