Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or views on Pernamax from Maxavita? I have just ordered a months supply of the equine tablets for my arthritic Section D - the feedback on the website is really good but I was hoping to get some views here as well.

It's not cheap - £26.00 for a month's supply - but it is supposed to work wonders. I've not received my order yet but wondered if anyone had already tried it. They say in the advert that they are so confident that you will be delighted with the results that they give you the loading dose free.

Any thoughts?

Thanks Lynwood! Where is your mare arthritic and how badly did she suffer from it?

I've also read that some users can stop bute after a couple of weeks - my chap is still on one a day, in this cold weather, it makes him sound so he can be lightly ridden, but I am hoping to be able to take him off the bute soon. he is also on Cortaflex and cider apple vinegar.

I got mine through 2 days ago so im interested in hearing peoples opinions on this thread. How quick do you see results?
My horse doesnt suffer at the moment but in the last 9 months he has had one suspensory and one tendon injury! He is a heavier horse and so doesn't wear his joints well and had been getting a bit stiffer and after all the raving reviews i thought i'd give it a go!

According to the feedback and info on the site - you are supposed to notice a difference in ten days - that is apparently why they give you the loading dose free.

Her arthritis was most evident in the joints of her feet, but she was generally stiff. The thing about Pernamax is you will see a difference almost straight away if it's going to work for you, it's not like a lot of supplements when you have to wait months and waste a lot of money. I crush the tablets to a fine powder and mix in the feed, otherwise your horse may spit them out and might not get the dose.

Banjo has it in his pasterns but it is not classic ringbone in the usual sense of the word. He can be pottery on his front feet, especially when the weather is cold and damp.

I'm hoping it gets here over the weekend, will keep you posted.

I have just put my horse on to Simple Systems crushed linseed, it is working a treat and is much cheaper! He is also on apple cider vinegar, well worth trying before resorting to the more expensive supplements.

i started using pernamax after reading feedback on another forum. Definitely helps a bit as he has arthritis in the hocks - generally more supple all over with it. but i also use alfa hi oil, blue chip dynamic, apple cider vinegar, cortaflex and cod liver oil so could be a combination of all these things!
