Hi, I just wondered if anyone had tried the product by 'Horse First', called Relax me? If you have do you think it works, has it helped your horse settle?

I sometimes have problems when I'm out and wanted something just to take the edge of him
Thanks

Thanks. I've decided to give it a try. It's approved by Ellen Whitaker and Michael, Zara Philips and Geoff Billington to name but a few but then so are a lot of products that don't seem to make much difference!

I'm not one for using lotions and potions but I thought I'd give this one a go as I'm getting fed up of paying money to enter competittions and having it ruined by a silly spooky horse lol

Thought I had commented on this! I use it! Have a very sharp hot mare, and while it doesnt stop her spooking, it's a lot more under control

Yes I have used this on a horse of mine, whilst it didn't stop him being a looney, i do think it took the edge of him, but is a calmer that you have to keep using rather than a one off hit. Thus making it rather expensive.

I have found it effective as a one off hit, in that I start feeding it the week before a compitition dosing highly the night before.
I run out recently and did not give any, horse was a dragon breathing fire so definatly seems to take the edge off even fed this way.

Like all calmers it depends on the horse. I used magnatude on my fizzy mare very successfully relax me made a difference but magnatude was better. I use Relax me on an excitable TB and it works for her. I don't think there are any bad ones they are all based on magnesium but horses are all different and I would just keep trying till you find one that works. Relax me has had rave reviews and supported by many of the top riders, and I think they offer a money back guarantee.

I have found Relax me to work on a warmblood doing medium dressage who can be quirky and a tb doing PSG who can just be exitited and abit stressy!
Also there joints and hoof supplements seem to work : )

I started using it on Saturday. For the first five days he has to have quite a bit and today I could see his eyes clouding over! No really though, he seems to be a bit less sensitive already!

I wouldn't say he is as mad as a hatter anyway, not really. His favorite party piece is spooking, with the odd double spin thrown in for a low 3 mark in dressage or perhaps even a 2 (!)
One day at an event he could be as good as gold and the next day he can be an idiot. He also neighs for my sisters mare which is very annoying when you are half way through a test.
So I hope it calms him enough to just concentrate for the five minutes through a test. He's normally good when warming up, I think he gets stage fright!

I will know by the end of this weekend if it's made any difference at all.
