Hi, hope this hasn't been asked before, I did try a search and found lost of discussions on brushing boots, human boots but no Boa Horse Boots.

Have any of you used Boa Horse Boots? Are they any good? My horse does not have shoes and wasn't shod with her last owners. She is sometimes a little foot sore on stony tracks and I wondered if horse boots might be the way to go.

Grateful for any info.

Hi , ther are several different types out there , Boa is just one. Personally I found Marquis to be the best but it depends on the shape of your horses foot. My farrier was a great help in making sure I got the right fit , so have a word with yours. Because I was a bit unsure I started off leading then lunging in the boots before I rode to make sure the horse wasn't going to have a fit! Look funny but work!!!!!!

Boa boots are what I used for my Haflinger. They are very good fit for horses with regular round but quite wide feet. Try them without the optional neoprene gaiters first, as they are sposed to prevent rubbing but they were the only bit that rubbed her! (maybe cos shes quite flat hooved, not much depth to them. Eventually I could manage without them but it took a year. I still have them for emergencies on long rides.

If your horses hooves are boxy or oval then they might fit another make better.

I never had any prob with them, they were excellent, I chose them cos of the very easy dial tightening mechanism, some of the others were a lot more tricky and I wanted to be able to tighten up when out and about.
