has anyone used the Nupafeed MAH.

I have a mare that has taken not to travel well. She loads very well, does not sweat up in the trailer and comes out very calmly.

She will stand in the trailer as long as it is not moving. She starts to brace herself as the engine starts and then as we move throws herself against the partition.

Someone has suggested I use Nupafeed MAH to help her.

Is that the magnesium calmer? If it is, I used it in the past as mare was very spooky, it did help a lot to the point where she was switched off and pretty lazy!

Have you tried taking the partition out? Gives them more space to balance and makes things less claustraphobic

I've heard very good things about Nupafeed (from vet and a farrier!)- i guess i must be very old fashioned at heart as i always used to think calmers were pointless and a waste of money- i really did!, but one of my horses is sharp at times, spooky and can be a drama queen and a bit cheeky as well (but i love him to bits!) and last year i decided to be open minded- started him on magnitude magnesium calmer, and he doesn't get half as upset and stressed about things!! if that hadn't of worked i would have tried the nupafeed.

If it were my horse i'd prob be inclined to use a small dose of sedalin before travelling if your vet will allow you to try it, and then once they are travelling better I'd go down the route of using nupafeed or a calmer.

Good luck for you though- really hope it works!

I would love to use the sedaline but I can not use it too close to competition as it is Fei illegal and would show up in a blood test.

The silly thing about it is that at the competition she is perfectly fine with no stress at all.

Agree- if you're competing the Sedalin is no good! the Magnesium has worked brillliant on my boy so I can only say give the nupafeed or magnesium a go, it may just work for you!

Gd Luck!
