Has anyone viewed horses on their own?

Yes, I do if no one is around to come. Its nice to have someone to share thoughts with and to remember what the seller said, but rather than miss a good horse, I go alone.
 
Due to time I usually go for first viewing then take another eye for second and make the decision usually not to buy then(sorry lots of bad experiences)! But good luck
 
Take a video camera if you have one , take some of the horse ridden by seller then get them to video you on it, I have done this when selling, then you can look at it later and let anyone else whose opinion you value view it also.
If no video at least take some stills.

Good idea I'll take a camcorder/camera.
 
Yes, once and bought him 12 years ago, still have him, second horse I took someone with me and bought her 3 years ago and still have her. Think it depends how confident you are in your own judgement. I like to take someone along for a different perspective but wouldn't say it was essential. If you really want someone wouldn't your riding instructor or the yard owner (if you'll be going to a livery yard) help you?
 
I went on my own last time and have done previously, at the end of the day the vet will pick up any medical issues and I know if I like the horse and if I thinks it suits me, only me that rides my horse generally so most important that it works for me.:)

TBH, If you are honest with yourself about what you really want and have enough knowledge to check for obviuos problems (saves paying for a vetting if you spot major problems)

I have before and it's been fine. If you've got enough experience then you should be fine, especially if it's second viewing. Obviously it's better to go with someone as that second opinion is often crucial, but I wouldn't miss it because I haven't got anyone else to go with. You've just got to go with an open mind and prepare as much as you can beforehand - ask other people before you go as to what they might ask and do.
 
Yep. The horse I bought recently I went for a second viewing on my own. I was going to hack him out with the seller and it was all absolutely fine. I wish I'd had someone to share the driving with though :p
 
All the time at the moment - feel bad dragging people along for the number of viewings that I seem to be notching up but so used to it now it doesn't bother me at all.

Only had one strange comment from a seller who was surprised that I would view on my own ... but then again having done my google homework on them i knew that they were not really helping to sell on a friends behalf as they said but for a paying client so mutual distrust all round :D
 
Bought 3 over 20 yrs and always gone on my own, more because I've worked unsociable hours and mates have 'proper' jobs. My current one was on the Internet so got my new farrier to have a look at (I lost my previous horse to navicular not helped by old farriers work)
