Am just interested really.

I have had horses for most of my life until a couple of years ago when I was just fed up with it all. Difficult horses, retired horses, weather, my time being dominated by their needs etc etc for one reason or another I wanted a break from it all.

But even now I still get a hankering to get another, it would be a youngster as I like seeing them develop but not sure if it would be a massive mistake. I enjoy riding when I do but I'm not passionate about it. It might be just the romance of it as we've just had such a lovely weekend I've lost sight of the mud and cold lol.

None of the reasons for giving up have gone re time / weather but the difficult horse was PTS because of a brain tumour and the oldie PTS when his time came.

Does anyone else who gave up still miss them ?

I have recently bought a youngster after being horse free for the past 2 years.
My husband threatened to divorce me if I didn't get another as I just wasn't "me" anymore without a horse.
Yes the rain, cold, mud, dark nights are still crap. Im poor again and meet myself coming back, I have that little time, but my filly has the best money can buy and it has been the best thing I have done in a long time.
I gave up as I sold my last horse as we never bonded and I thought having a break would be good after 34 years it wasn't.
It depends is your time (and money) precious to you now, are you willing to go back to cold feet in winter etc...?
