Driven with a cast on their arm ok?
I have heard of lots of people doing it second hand from others.
Have you done it? My OH has stropped because i am a nervous passenger after my accident, asking him to slow down at times so said he wont drive me any where any more, even though i used to drive him to work every day and pick him up!!!
Anyway, my arm feels fine and the plaster comes off in 10days.
What do you think?
Your experiences will be much appreciated
Thanks

I really would not drive until you have the go ahead from a medical professional, which may sometimes mean you will have to wait after the cast is removed.

your insurance will be nul and void unfortunately.
Its only 10 days, so hang in there.

darn, i did wonder if that was the case.
will have to get the bus it seems, its a shame OH is being a complete ***, well its no surprise i am nervous after my accident!! grrrrr

been told by copper not illegal to drive with cast (in same boat) although if yr driving badly they cd charge you with not being in proper control of vehicle. Friend was cautioned wen caught. Yr insurance`wd not necessarily be null and void but if yr goin by the book and ring them thats a chance you take. Depends on which arm, auto or manual, can get a 'knob' on wheel which people with one arm use. Lucky my ins covers expenses caused by temp loss use`arm, taxis livery etc i would advise all to take ins out, nice payout if you do have an accident, makes it alot easier to bear

my insurers NFU did tell me my insurance would be compromised if i continued to drive with a plaster cast as i was driving KNOWINGLY to be not 100% fit ti drive.

the above poster is also correct in saying it isnt illegal to drive as such, as i too was told by plod i could, in theory, drive my car...but your insurers might not be too impressed!!
