Has Gavin Reilly Gone Bust???

According to the Dodgy Dealers faceache page he's now linked with JB Sports Horses - don't know the in's and outs though - it's the subject of a lengthy and confusing thread as to who is actually owning / selling / to be trusted etc!

I'm guessing he has we are down the road from were he was based, and he's had a fair few bailiffs looking for him over court battels and owing alot of money to people!! He just uped and left and left alot of debt behind!

Im assuming Gavin Reilly has done a runner! We have been trying to get him to reply to text, letters & phone calls since November 2015 concerning issues we have had with a horse we brought from him. We have now appointed solicitors to try & resolve the issues we have. Good luck to anyone trying to find him!

I'd love to know where Gavin is now.. He still owes me 7K after sending us a stolen horse full of strangles..

That is shocking. Did the horse come with a passport, did you buy unseen? And the worst thing is he had quite a good name a few years ago. Why do dealers try and take short cuts for a quick killing instead of doing their jobs properly. The mind boggles.

You have my sympathy, what a shocking thing to do.

It came with a passport that wasn't his. It has been sent to us on a lorry - half dead ( it was soo poorly ). We have seen the horse in May, paid the money, Gavin then packed everything and did the runner over the night. I've managed to find Gavin though his girlfriend. It took him 4 months to send the horse to us and when he did we found out that 1) the horse wasn't his to sell so we had to send him back to his owner! 2) it was full of strangles. So we have been left with a massive vet bill, no horse and Gavin still has our 7k... so yes, VERY KEEN to find out where he's hiding.

God that is awful. What a horrible situation for you

How terrible is that. Has to be one of the worst cases ever of being done by a dealer.

I do hope you manage to track him down and get some satisfaction. Truely dispicable behavior.

Have you tried the Dodgy Dealer pages on Facebook? Someone may know where he is.

He was a prolific notorious (s)dealer in the south, not heard a peep about him since he did a flit from Newbury area a few years ago.
I actually bought the horse in my profile from him early in 2015, probably a few months before his "disappeared" ?
I have to say, I was lucky and horse was very green but temperament wise, as described and I still have him, so I had a good experience as a buyer, I am sure others were maybe not so fortunate. real shame as he had a great eye for a horse, i felt.

I also obtained a lovely horse 'via' Gavin; I still have the horse ten years on. I say 'via' as I bought the horse from a lady whom had actually purchased it the previous year from Gavin. I contacted Gavin for some back history and surprisingly he replied to my email inquiry, however although it was clear from the correspondence that he could remember the horse, he couldn't give me any leads as to the family in Ireland whom he had obtained it from!
