I've been pretty down as the OH has been working away for the last month and will be away for at least another month if not longer, I've been made jobless and I can't apparently get JSA until he returns with his wage slips, when I exclaimed in dismay that I can't live on the little money I have, I was told rather meanly, to sell my pets to save money!

My OH has been working for an English company providing short term English language classes, he's currently in Milan and then will be heading to Vienna for two weeks and told me to book myself on some flights with his money :) and come stay at the hotel he will be based at with him.

I've found out that he's booked me into seeing the Spanish Riding school twice :D Once to see morning exercise and have a guided tour and then to see "them ponce about on Saturday" as he calls it, before I fly home :D :D I've always wanted to see them and was so jealous he was going there even though he's completely non-horsey :D :D :D.

I was so upset on Monday when the b'stard told me to sell the animals (only a tortoise and a little aviary) I cried all the way home :( Was considering giving up my share in Idiotpony although all he costs me is the trimmers visits and transport there twice a week.

And now I feel so happy I could bounce all the way to Vienna!

Spent the evening watching videos on youtube to get in the mood :D
 
Apply to the social fund for a crisis loan, which you'll have to pay back. If you're entitled to JSA, when you eventually get it, it will be back dated to your claim date. Some job centre staff are charming, aren't they?!
 
I'm arranging with the bank to break into my ISA and withdraw a little from there to keep me ticking over until he returns. I don't want to get into any further debt as already pretty far into Mr Overdraft.
Guess that's the point in having emergency savings! :(

Hey Karran sorry to hear that your possibility for a new job didn't work out...(?)

Lucky that you have some savings- as if cutting out the feed for a tortoise and a few birds could save enough for you to eat etc!!! (Unless it's a giant tortoise ;-) )

Very jealous of the Lippizans- I looked at going later this year when they come to Birmingham but the price of it! Figured I might as well wait to go to Vienna and see them in their actual home!
