Has the Charles Owen Ayr8 changed?

I seem to have an oddly shaped head - definitely Charles Owen / oval shaped. My past couple of hats have been Charles Owen Ayr8 and have fitted well and been really comfortable. I went to try to get a new one today (old one is getting on for 6 years old now) and see they've been replaced with the Ayr8 Plus. I tried one on in the size bigger than my normal size and, strangely, it seemed to fit size-wise, but felt strange in that it seemed more "low-profile" and didn't seem to envelop my head like the old one does.

The shop didn't have any in my size for me to compare it with, but I definitely think the shape/ fit seems to have changed from the previous model. The CO website describes it as a "low profile" hat, but it doesn't necessarily read as though that's different to the previous one.

Am I imagining it or is the new model different?
 
Was the one you tried the oval fit or the round fit? As that would definitely change how it would feel.

In CO terms, plus tends to mean the liner's removable (see Pro II and Pro II Plus as another example - I've had both, they fit identically)

Mmm... It could've been the round, I suppose.

Maybe I need to find somewhere with some definite standard fit in stock and try them.
