I last mowed my lawn in mid Nov. The grass has grown since then. Hopefully the recent drop in temp will be enough to put a stop to it. I can see me mowing the lawn on xmas day at this rate.
My friends horse has gone down with laminitis. She is always so careful about grazing!!

Ours hasn't stopped just yet... although it's slowed down a lot, we're still getting it struggling through the mud! This is a good thing for us, because the ponies' paddocks would be a complete useless bog without that little bit of new grass. Won't be growing for much longer though, I suppose.

Grass still growing down here in the South East and had a customer's pony diagnosed with laminitis this week, so would still be taking precautions for any potential laminitics. (And watch out for any frosts as well, because these can affect the level of fructans in the grass and therefore trigger laminitis.)

I was having this discussion with my vet yesterday. She was saying she's seeing lami cases really late this year, normally there's that peak with the Sept/autumn flush of grass but as it stayed so mild into Oct/Nov the grass stayed better for longer this year.

We've only had 2 proper frosts so far this year so probably need a few more to halt its growth properly. Also on the yard we normally get the horses gathering at the gate to come in early afternoon if there's no grass to be had and they're not really doing that much at the moment but staying up the field grazing
