I have a event one as well but it doesn't fit any of my horses either so have to sell it. I'd never heard of them before though so was wondering how much they're worth. It's in good condition and is really comfortable, I was thinking 400 euro but might up that if you're selling yours for £420!
Kay Hastilow is/was (not sure if she's still doing it as she moved away) a remedial saddle fitter and saddle maker. Her reputation is excellent to those who know her!!! I think she was Walsall trained. Now, I cant say if she still makes saddles but cant believe she would put her name to any old rubbish.
So they are probably pretty good saddles without the trendy name that costs extra!
Thanks dozziesmummy, I think it is a good one as the leather is very good quality and it is really comfortable, it's a shame I have to sell it but it's sitting in a corner in the tack room gathering dust. The label on it says Hastilow and Sons, Walsall, so I don't know if Kay Hastilow is related to them. I would imagine it has been hand crafted as it appears to have quite a particular fit, I got it with my horse although he's now developed a topline and more muscle and it's too tight for him. Actually think it may have been quite expensive originally as the people who used to own him had won the lottery!!
Dont know if she had any sons! But would suspect theres some relationship! She lived in this area about 20 years ago so would prob be in her 50s now! She may however have married into the family!
