OK this is really embarrasing, but my hats (skull cap type) always seem to end up smelling really awful - I had a lesson tonight and worked very hard, got off the horse and couldnt wait to get home and wash my hair it was so horrible

So I wondered whether deoderisers (sp

I have no idea why I have just a sweaty head (yuck!) as I am quite normal in every other way

I too cant wait for a shower and wash my horrible hair after iv ridden. Iv swapped to a vented hat now (one that looks like a cycle helmet) and that has helped quite a lot, but never tried deodorisers...I would imagine they dont work that well, because youl be sweating again so have to use it every time??

My hat does always smell lovely after I have been to the hairdressers - they use a fruit smelling gel which stays in my hair for ages

I wouldnt mind but I wash my hair at least once a day, so it cant be dirty or anything

I think I will end up doing what I usually do - throwing the hat away cos it smells, and getting a new one

my head gets very sweaty when i am working him - the result is that my hair can be soaking and eugh

have been very interested in deodrisers and cleaners...

but since i have a ventilated hat, i use it with a hat cover so sort of cancels out the ventilation

Living in Texas and riding in the 35oC- 40oC my hat used to smell like a ripe camembert. Then I discovered hat deodoriser and smelly hat was gone

Not sure if it didn't just cover up the smell, but to be honest I don't care...

BTW - how was the lesson?

OK - a plan - I will buy a new hat (I dropped mine the other day so was thinking I should get a new one) and use deodoriser (hey, you can spell it!) from day one

Hopefully that will do it

I was just about to post in Soapbox - I think I am about to die

The lesson was interesting for improving my riding, but the horse would NOT go forward at all so that part was very frustrating! But I am SO unfit
