Hi
Can anyone tell me if this is up to current standards:
I cant seem to find an absolute confirmation

Thank you

helmet is good for BD and BS but not for BE.
When you say "good for", I suspect you may mean that it meets the minimum official requirement for a competition.
Those of us who dont compete will need to look at the various hat designs and the activities we do. The competition requirements are sometimes out of date and dont reflect the latest development in safety helmets. I used to insist on Snell but I now hack in a m.i.p.s hat
Air MIPS a type originally devised for cyclists.
I was fitted with this hat by our saddler and bought it as her suggestion. I cant advise you on your choice but I love mine as it sits high on my head and doesnt rest on my neck or interfere with my bp. I have not yet fallen off in this hat so cant report on an impact.

I have never as an adult ridden in a fixed peak helmet. The peak is on the silk. It protects the helmet and keeps the sun out of my eyes, but it did once catch on a tree and come off. I was in walk in the woods. It has never budged in canter.

If I seem childish in doing what the saddler and RI told me to do or tell me to do it is because I started riding lessons when I was 61 and I still do what I am told.

2024 hat standards are here: https://www.horseandhound.co.uk/features/riding-hat-rules-2-677195

Samshield standards are here https://www.samshield.com/en/content/18-safety

In 2026-7 I think we're keeping the same standards as you? but competitors need a different coloured tag on the strap. Equestrian Australia usually keeps in line with BE. They're saying now the 'check mark' logo is mandatory. ie see bottom of image. So, Kitemark, SAI or SEI
