Hi, I'm just trying to see if i can trace my new boys previous owners. I have had him 6 weeks now and love him to bits! He is a 15.2hh welsh sec D, 7 yrs old and Dark bay. He went by the name of James. I have managed to trace up until he was 3 yrs old but have no details since. I would love to know more about his past. From what i can tell from vaccination records he was sold to a lady in North Hants and then ended up in East Sussex before i bought him. Any info would be great. Here's a pic... (sorry pic is so big!)

ooh - whereabouts in East Sussex?

You could write to the vets shown on the vac record and ask them to forward on a letter to the owner's last known address - if they still have it on file. Send them the letter and a stamped envelope so it won't cost them anything. At worst you'll have lost the cost of the stamps.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did phone the vets in North Hants, but they wouldn't do anything as it is breaching confidentiality. It says he was last vaccinated in Vines Cross by Brown and Nuttall Chimneys, Heathfiled literally 2 weeks before i bought him from the dealer. So it seems he was passed around a bit in the months before i had him. I think the dealer knows some details, but we're not really on friendly terms to say the least so was hoping someone might recognise him.

Vines Cross is close to us and know the vets but if you say he was vac whilst at dealers that won't help much. Which dealers - Pm if you prefer!

Vines cross is near to the dealers, but it's not where the yard is, so obviously someone owned him between them. He was apparently already sold once by the dealers but the people couldn't come up with the money, so perhaps it was them that had his vaccinations done, but it doesn't make sense unless they took him home and then gave him back.. so confusing! The vets have passed on my number, but the ones in North Hants sounded like she really couldn't be bothered, but said she would pass it on. Have pm'd you.
