CALLING ALL FORTY SOMETHING RIDERS WHO LOVE GYMKHANAS PLEASE REPLY HOPE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!! ME AND MY BABY ARE GOING TO HAVE A GO AT THE LOCAL JUMPING AND GYMKHANA CLUB DONE DRESSAGE ON MY COB BORING SO TIME FOR A BIT OF FUN AND WILL JUST HAVE A GO AND A LAUGH IN THE SPRING ANY ONE ELSE DOING THE SAME- WELL MAKES A CHANGE FROM HACKING AND SCHOOLING!!
 
Go for it !!it will be fun I am 41 and would love to do it on my cob it would be like being a kid again. The gymkhanas round here all have age restrictions so I cant

How spooky!! I was just sitting here agreeing with your post and wondering why there isnt an adult mounted games club in the UK. You hit 21 out of MGA and nothing!!

I would love to do MGA again on horse or pony (have nippy 14.2 has it so happens!!) but why nothing for adults, do they assume we are all too boring???

Over 40's mounted games teams, any interest??? lol
 
Winkfiedwintershere I'm not sure who told you that the MGA has an age limit of 21 but that is not the case. Originally the whole point of MGA was for people to carry on doing games for as long as they want. As a more mature member of the MGA who still competes regularly I can confirm that there are many of us over 21's competing both in the UK and abroad week in week out at mounted games.
 
Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one a bit long in the tooth who can (only just) remember their Pony Club days!!! I've done a few Fun Rides with my coloured cob - the first time I've really "done" anything since pony club. He behaved beautifully in spite of everyone else around him behaving deplorably! (he'll probably be a monster next time round). I've always fancied having a go at TREC; but need to see what they actually do first. I'm not sure about the mounting up you apparently need to do; its not the dismounting is the problem its the getting one's leg across again!!! Oh joy. But we'll see. I do remember Handy Pony from years ago; you'd not be allowed to do it now coz of Elf and Safety, but golly we had some fun at that. We thought nothing of hacking for 8 miles to get to a show, and back again on the same day, and the same for hunting to get to a meet. You wouldn't get many young people nowadays who'd do that would you? (perhaps there are still some out there???).

so not in my forties, however my yard does a gymkana for the whole yard and all the liveries and kids take part. We have an age range from 10-50+ taking part! Everyone always has a fab time

BRILLIANT LETS HERE IT FOR ALL US YOUNG AT HEART RIDERS I RECKON WE COULD SHOW THE YOUNGSTERS A THING OR TWO O AND COUNTING THE REPLIES TO MY POST WE CAN DEFINATELY HAVE A GYMKHANA RACE NOW WHAT GAMES SHALL WE DO O YES AND MY DAD WANTS A GO ASWELL HES 67YRS AND GOT A QUARTER HORSE SO WE ALL READY LETS DO IT!!!
 
HI WHERE CAN YOU DO THE MG i ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS FOR UNDER 21S THANKS I WOULD LOVE TO FIND OUT MORE AS USED TO BE IN THE PRINCE PHILIP CUP AS A KID AND IT WAS THE BEST TIME EVER O THEY WERE THE DAYS
