Hello everyone,

Today this was the second time I found a beautiful Huski (the same one), Wednesday last week when running with my boy I found him wondering around aimlessly, luckily, he had a collar on with info, so I met the owner and gave him back. He said thank you and said I had been the only person able to catch him, to me he was very friendly and happily let me put his lead on.

I've seen this dog around my area being walked before, so I immediately recconised him. Today when running again, I saw the man and said hello, noticed he was trying to get the dog, then noticed he had no collar on, then saw him drive off, so i pressumed he got him.

About 20 minutes later, I saw stood with my other half while he hit golf balls and he noticed the dog, out of nowhere, running over to us. So I walked with the lead over to him and noticed that he really did have no collar on. It totally baffled me why you would walk a dog without one on. So i looped my lead around his head and waited for an hour, still no sign of the owner.

So I took him back to my mums and he's spent the afternoon here, very happily playing with my collie. Luckily we know a lady who breeds Huski's and has 3 of her own so we called her. She then told us that Huski's shouldn't be let off and they look for pray and don't come to call normally. She was also in total shock as she earlier in the week had seen the man and his other dogs with the Huski.

She's just taken him home with her dogs and is going to take him to the vets tomorrow. He was very touchy about being touched in some places, like he was in pain too.

Feeling very sad, as how could somebody just drive off and leave there dog in a feild, very close to a main road, with no collar on?!
Just hope I done the right thing bringing him back and giving him to somebody with experience with the breed.

Sorry for such a long post, Fox's biscuits on offer, YUM!

Yes, you did the right thing. If he is sore, it does make you wonder if he has been kicked or something.

Certainly done the right thing OP. He may have been Wagtail, although he could also have quite easily been hit by a car, in between today and yesterday.

Or maybe it had been attacked by the owner for running all the time! I've see one person attack their dog on the lead once it finally came back to them! Apparently it ran away all the time and he was teaching it a lesson!
I told him if I seen him treat the poor dog like that again I would report him to the police, then I got a mouthful of abuse which I told him where to go and pointed out that I didn't need to beet up a poor animal to make myself feel like a man! (that didn't go down well haha)

It's true though many owners take out their anger on the animals. I have a husky whom I let off the lead but she always comes back because she knows

1) I have sweeties aka bacon or cheese chunks

2) that I wouldn't dare hurt her!

If she thought I would hurt her she would hide and refuse to come near me!

I think he could of possibly been hurt as he was frightened of my partner, but was very happy to be stroked by me and mum, obviously doesn't like men. After spending the day with this little guy, the breed seems so kind (well he did),

Your right though, thats probably why he wouldn't come back!
