To those of you who were kindly following my (admittedly not that interesting!) blacksmith saga the past couple of days, just wanted to say WE HAVE SHOES ON LAST!!! Such a relief. In the end we took a gamble and boxed her down to my old blacksmith's forge and they were able to do her, so now have neat little feet again and 4 new shoes.
So looking forward to YRC course on Monday now

Thanks very much for the sympathy and advice (esp you arwenplusone..!)
xx

No, had to take her to a different farrier!!! Nobody knows what's happened to my usual guy, still not a peep out of him... all very bizarre

TSK - Farriers! If there are any out there thinking of relocating to York - there's certainly plenty of work available up here !

Glad everything sorted now. You MUST let us know how the course goes when you get back!

Yes farrier firmly booked in for next time, although that is of minimal comfort seeing as he was 'firmly booked in' this time as well!!! Never mind we will see...

arwenplusone - don't worry I will definitely let you know how the course goes! I'm taking my video camera so my friend and I can take some video of each other to watch back later, see how appalling my riding really is! Now if i can just get a video card i can post some on the forum too

If not photos will have to suffice..

Glad you have got new shoes on............ if I was you I'd dump your farrier and book in with sam for next time. He's fab; always on time, plesent, polite and not arsey- and he always does his best in an emergency

Well if I was on my own yard then I definitely would. As the rest of the yard uses the other guy it is (usually!) less hassle to have her done at the same time. I was under the impression that most farriers like coming out just for one horse?
