I've been asked by a stud if I know of anyone with a spare mare which could be used this year for an embryo transplant but I don't personally so thought someone on here might know or have one.

It has to be about or more than 16.2hh without any vices, particularly cribbing or windsucking and to have bred a foal before but it doesn't matter what type of horse she is. This is obviously about an 18 months' commitment for the mare until weaning. I don't think distance will be a problem for the right mare.

That's about as much as I know but if you think you could help, I can easily put you in touch with the stud (based Home Counties).

I'll also post this in vet.

Would they want the mare up with them?
My 16.2hh (bred 3 foals) mare will be sat around doing nothing for a while......Do you know any more details?

Kat, sorry, I don't know much more than what I've said. I was asked but didn't have anything but if I had, I would have had no hesitation in letting it go to Nikki (well, it's for a friend of hers but think she's overseeing everything as far as I can make out).
I'll pm you her number and website unless you'd like to pm me your number and I'll send it to her tomorrow, whichever you prefer. I'm sure that's the sort of mare they are after too! Thanks!
