Have you done the gcds?

Yeah, done bronze and silver. Cost varies between training schools. I can't remember for sure but I think I paid £75 for a 10 week course including the test. I did the bronze and silver in one go as my springer was excellent!

I have done bronze and silver with my local dog club. Cost was £26 for a 10 week course. The training is run through the local council further education scheme, seems good value compared with what you had to pay.

Maybe it wasn't as much as that, I can't remember really!! It was run by a really good trainer and the class size was small so there was plenty of one on one if required.

We did it about 6 years ago when Min was a puppy, cost £2.50 a class for 10 classes and it was great to get her interacting with other dogs and she did really well, we had a christmas fancy dress party with prizes! which I loved Minnie went as an angel complete with wings!

I dont want the training, Im sure my dog is up to scratch for the test. Can I do the test without having training sessions, and how much would the test alone be?

we did the puppy, bronze and silver without a break so decided when she came into season att he end of the silver not to bother with gold but she is impeccibly well trained and its stuck with her thankfully

my 5 week puppy course was £30 and 10 week bronze and silver were £60 each uncluding the test, certificates and rosettes!

at our local show there was a dog training group there doing the test on the day i took my pals lab in and we passed but i dont know if you can just pay to sit it i think you would need to contact the clubs that do it in your area and ask them. there is a website listing those that do it

I've done the bronze with my dog and am thinking about doing the silver.
We joined a dog training club as she was a rescue and we just wanted to do some basic training with her. They charge £10 for membership for a year and then £2 for each class. To take the bronze test it was just another £2 on the test day!

My dogs have done the bronze. We didn't do a course just paid £4 (I think) to take the test. It was arranged by the breed society. We've just started going to obedience lessons so hopefully we will do the silver in the not too distant future.

I think it depends on the place that is running the tests. I take mine to a local training club at £1.50 per class, but don't pay to do the test as I am already attending. One has her gold and the other has his silver. Might be worth you either contacting the kennel club and find out who locally does the test or calling some local training place and explain that you just want to do the test and see what they say.
