Have you ever said/wished you'd said something?

Just reading the thread about the french trainer and people wondering how the owner and other people there just stood back and kept their mouths shut about what she was doing.

Made me wonder if you guys have ever said anything or wished you had, about an animal being mistreated in front of you?

I was once on a yard run by very nasty people who did terrible things to their horses. I never said anything as I was very intimidated by them and was worried about what they might do to my horse. I was also very young and quite novice at the time so I doubt my words would have had any effect. Instead I left and made sure that anyone I knew who was thinking of going there knew exactly what went on.

Now I'm older and uglier, I would hope I'd have the guts to say something! Would you/have you?

We once had a 'professional' show jumper who came to do a lesson once a week at a fairly swanky yard I worked at. This particular week he turned up drunk then when one of the not terribly confident school horses knocked one down he decided rapping would teach him a lesson. Then when he started refusing he got a crony to chase him with a whip.
I went straight off and got the yard owner out of her house, caused mayhem. I was sooo unpopular as I had grassed on this so called professional who we should all obviously bow down before.
This was 25 years ago now when I was seventeen, still quite proud of myself for it.
