The front steering axle would take weight of the towbar, which - as cars get lighter to become fuel efficient - may be something we see on the roads in the UK in the next 20 years?
Exactly the first thing that crossed my mind too was the separated axles being a real pain for those not accustomed to reversing split axle trailers.
All of our hay wagons are split axles and it does take time to figure out how to reverse them and if it goes wrong, it is difficult to easily correct it, so you have to start again.
I am just imagining some of these useless PC mothers who can't even reverse a regular double axle horse trailer .... my oh my, what pickles they could get into with one of these
