Yes I have, if you are going to teach your friend you really ought to have the relavant insurance, otherwise it could well end up costing you a lot more than just your friendship.
Yes I have, but I am qualified and it was at Riding Schools.
Sorry to be a spoilsport but I would advise against it, and recommend they go to a RS.
No way would I do it now unless I had insurance and, in this age of litigation, a written disclaimer from the pupil (worthless in reality) I have insurance on the farm for the Boarders but am reluctant to even let my daughter's friends ride our horses.
If you are uninsured (and maybe unqualified) whatever your pupil says, it only takes for a horse to spook, rider to tumble and break a limb and whatever agreement may go out of the window and you end up being sued. It isn't worth it.
It is a crying shame that the world has come to this.
Yeaaaah, in a casual sort of way atm though. Have a few kids and local people that come up every now and then we let have rides on the horses etc Not for money or business, just out of niceness really as that was pretty much me as a kid catching rides on other peoples horses out of their niceness too. Just feel I sort of 'owe' it to them, as it's what I did? If that makes sense...
I tought my wee sister on our own horsey but she did have lessons for years before hand so it was just dtuff like asking for leg yield, collected canter etc but personally i wouldnt tech anyone else. I dont get how some RI can tech lets say jumping when theyve never jumped :/ ... or dressage or xc lmao
