Have you ever tried horse food??

Lickits are delicious! My boss showed me something in haylage that if you split it, the inside was really sweet (not helpful I'm sure).
I've also tried various dog biscuits, most taste like old spaghetti but bonios taste a tiny bit milky then they taste spaghetti-esque. Dog chocolate drops - bleurgh!

I've not eaten any proper horse food, but I have licked my mare's 'Uncle Jimmy's Licky Thing' licks, before she was allowed it though - the apple one is really nice :p I don't like the normal likits, they taste funny. Bella isn't that keen either haha. I'm not that weird, honest :D

When I was cramming for my NVQ assessment, my friend and I spent a good hour in the feed room identifying every ingredient found in all the different mixes... apparently we were the first students that had eaten them in the name of revision and maybe we were being a little too indepth!

All you people eating likits.. you do know that the packaging says 'not suitable for human consumpton' don't you?? Have to agree though, the cherry one is yummy, as is banana :D

I can't think what they're called, but some sort of herbal treat I think, big cube things in a green foil bag, mint flavour, they are really nice, my horses frequently share them with me.. not to their knowledge of course!!

I've tried soaked sugarbeet before, it tasted like raw potato skins..bleugh.

Pony nuts also taste horrible, they're just so dry! It's like eating really, really stale bread.

I've always fancied making a porridge out of flaked bran, it smells lovely when mixed with boiling water! Bet it would be nice mixed up with some hot milk and a pinch of salt..:D

Had a very old school instructer that made us try everything in the feed room, which was a bit icky as we were still on straights. The bran was vile but the sugar beet was great. Still do it today when we get new feed and also make my 11 year old try them.(Think its good for him to realise he shouldnt fed his animals anything that he would not be willing to eat himself.) Have also had a thing for bonios and the locust beans in hamster food.

I've tried most that I've ever fed...

Likits are lovely - and with natives, I couldn't possibly give the ponies a whole bar, so I just have to eat some myself :D

Most chaffs are nice enough to chew on - other than plain chopped oat straw which is a bit bland and chewy. Moly chaff is lovely :p
I quite like sugar beet, micronised barley, linseed etc, but barley rings are slightly vile :o Mixes tend to be quite palatable, though some conditioning mixes overdo the oil for my personal taste :D (oh I'm quite the connoiseur!:D)

I really like red cell, too. I keep licking it off my hands when I feed it :o

Apple likit , yum
Dry barley rings, okish taste a bit like ryveta

Used to love old fashioned pony nuts, and my 6 year old loves build up but ' not the black bits'

When we got our pony , she tried his feed, and announced it was disgusting and he would not like it :D

Sat waiting for the farrier one day and me and friend was trying to see if we could taste th difference between hay and hayledge. None as far as I could taste

Maize used to taste like dried cornflakes without the sugar.

Baileys was very nice tasted like bread crumbs.

Sugar Beet is disgusting!

Oh also i like all the lickits :) My favourite ones are mint, butterscotch and winter berry!

Of course!

When I was a kid, I'd regularly grab handfuls of oats to eat (spat out the husks, of course) - also ears of wheat. I think D&G's pasture mix is much cheaper than Jordan's and probably tastes better too.

I used to give my kids Bonios when they were teething. Much better (and cheaper!) than those baby teething bickies :D
My son once ate a huge spoonful of cat food as a bet. Utterly gross!
And my daughter demanded a Likit bar (banana or apple, please) in her Christmas stocking. She is 19 and at Uni.
Personally never tried any of these!
Funny thing is, my two mares won't touch Likits of any flavour!

Oh gosh, i feel very boring now!
I haven't really tried anything tbh, though I've been more than tempted.
Was dishing out the feed the other night and my sister said that it smelt lovely, I whole heartedly agreed. Poor girl had to do a double take, she was being sarcastic while I was genuinely serious :D

I've had a lick of lickit (in a tub) and think it was just very sweet and sticky though may have to get Dad to get some lickit bars when he collects the feed tomorrow.

I've an opened bag of high protein conditioning stuff that smells brilliant and have always liked the idea of sucking maize too.

LMAO I thought I was the only one who used to sneak flaked maize (agree - cornflakes!!) and chaff, and bran mash and sugar beet....

Also tried the dog choc drops and Winalot. I am surprised I never contracted CJD with all the dog food I have had in my mouth either on purpose or by accident :p
