Have you had a horse scoped for ulcers

Can anyone give me some info please?
Whats invloved in having a horse scoped and if something is found treated for stomach ulccers? prices would also be great please?
Alternativly and over the counter type treatments that have improved ulcers or symptoms (windsucking/cribbing)

Hi Mcnally - I had the late Henesy scoped for ulcers. They mildy sedated him first - then put a camera/tube down through his nostril into the throat. (This can be mildy disconcerting as the automatic response is to cough it back up. It can take a while for them to swallow it down )
This stage I found a bit distressing at first as I don't think it is a pleasant sensation for them.
Then they feed the tube down into the stomach and take a look at the stomach walls. In Henesy's case - he didn't have ulcers but certainly there was evidence of him having had them in the past.
If they find evidence of ulcers then I assume they would use Gastroguard (very expensive)
We didn't need further treatment but the whole scope visit cost me about £260
This was covered under my insurance though so all good
