As Thankyou. The horse in my sig is my Friesian youngster.
Con is the one in the pic. That was taken in the summer, fresh out of bed. No grooming. He was just mooching round the yard and I happened to catch him. He's not keen on his pic being taken.
oh i see haha. my pony is the same, a bit camera shy.
i'd love a friesian, i think they are stunning. ive hunted for one for age but have never come across one i can take home with me, but one day i will have one!
awww no! bless you, 30 is a ripe old age though, bet you pampered him as i 10 year old kid, i know when i was 10 i could rather brush the horse than ride, other way round now though haha
Got my old boy when he was 13 - bought him out of chance from the field (owner couldnt catch him), turned out he was strong, whizzy but the best pony i have and will ever own, taught me everything I know. We paid £700 for him and just this year I heard that they paid £3k for him as he was a top show pony, fantasic bargain for me! He's now out in the field, happily retired, eating lots of grass and watching all the youngsters having there riding life. Still, he is miserable as sin but I love having him around and he'll stay with us until the end of his days
Still got my old boy, we bought him as a first family horse both me and my sisters rode and mum and dad had a go aswell he was 2 rising 3 when we got him (was told he was 5 by dealer naughty naughty) and he is now 25 so had him 22 years, He's amazing been everything we could ever dream of i dead the day we loose him. such a character.
Yep, Had my lad (15.1hh Black Welsh Sec D) the best part of 14 years now....Bought him as a very Green, Just Gelded 4 yr old. Such a Sweetheart, I'd never part with him.
Oh yes, he is 36 now. His manners do not improve with age I arrive every morning to him pacing up and down furious with me for something I have or have not done The other horses skitter out of the way as he approaches, anyone in the field shelter when he wants to go in gets ejected The highlight of his week is going up to see the llamas, all his fur stands on end and we piaffe over to them, ears forward, then last minute ears flat back and lunge poor llamas they fall for it everytime (he is not allowed to make contact by the way ). I am very lucky to have had him in my life for so long, not everybody has that chance.
Yes, he's 22 now, and has been retired for a few years. I won't ever get rid of him - he was a nightmare to ride, and made me suffer, so now it's my turn to make him suffer
Oh, Mister Jay, we love you really!
No, he died suddenly of an anuerism exactly a year after I got him. But I was getting too tall, so he was going to be passed on after the summer. My sister's ponies were passed on once she'd outgrown them- otherwise we'd have hundreds of the blighters sitting in fields getting fat!
Yes I still have my first pOny. Got her 16 yrs ago and did everything with her. She is now mid 20's but still going strong! I still ride her most days too! Your first pony is something IMO you never forget x
Yes Blue is 20 now had him 15 years he means the world I can't imagine being without him! All my friends moved on to horses but i still have my boy lol
He's 33 now, and I've had him for 27 years. Stopped riding him about 3 years ago, and my youngest niece (3) still goes for the odd tootle round the field on him.
Vet has told me to keep a closer eye on him now (i got very upset about this) but he seems to alright at the moment.
There's something very special about first ponies huh?
