I know the market is slow and its a bad time of year, but just wondering where anyone who has successfully sold a horse recently advertised.

Basically I am looking to sell a TB stallion, so coming up to the right time of year, but just not sure where to put him

If you were racing would H&H be appropriate? Or due to the fact he is specialist would I better with a 'good till sold' advert?

Any tips / advice appreciated!

Are you selling him as a racing sire? Sport? What level?

I don't think there really is a magic formula. The last one I know of sold through word of mouth, the one before through a Pony Club advert. If there is a special market then definitely specialist advertising and I'd contact agents who deal with that segment of the market. If you are looking to sell as a sport sire I'd say be proactive and market him specifically to likely studs with a very attractive targeted email, as well as general advertising.

I have sold two this month so there is life in the market. Your chap is looking for a niche home and there may be advertising opportunities in the racing press, if that is appropriate. If instead he us a sport horse sire then H&H may be a useful place to advertise and word of mouth cannot be underestimated.
