Because mine has , grrrrr :D

Bless him, but .....

Since I started my new job, I dint get home some nights until about 6, so OH has to put pony to bed, and I am very grateful for that as he says he does not like horses.

You may remember that I posted a few months ago that said pony has got OH well trained in that he will now not go to bed with out getting his supper!!!!!

Well tonight was gods own job trying to get Levi to go to bed, to the point that he had a tantrum turned his bum on me and went kicking and bucking down his paddock.

OH comes along, 'come on boy, she does not know how we do it now, does she'?!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me :D and this coming from a confirmed horse hater .

So as above , any one else's OH got their horses/ponies under their spell?

Sorry i know this is not good for you but had to laugh at the "she doesn't know how we do it" bless the OH :D

my ex was great but he looked after B for a few days while i was away but he let B sort of take charge so he was a little pushy for a few days after i got back :D

Looks like you need a lesson in how it should be done OP ;).

When mine was newly backed at 4 OH used to walk out with us and always gave my girl a ‘half way treat’ for being good. Two years later she still hasn’t forgotten it and can spot someone on foot ten miles away, anyone is fair game for mugging no matter what size, shape or age.

:D he got her well trained as well lol

And yes you are right, I shall through to the wind all of my BHS exams , and bow down to the expert knowledge if my OH, his 1 year experience is far superior :D :D

My hubby cant resist giving everyone a treat if he goes into the stables when they are in. I chose to ignore it as they didnt pester me for treats.

Then he had to change the gearbox in my jeep. He worked overnight in the stables (barn) starting when they came in and aiming to be finished before they went back out in the morning because he had all sorts of bits and pieces lying around that he didnt want to have to move.

The door banging started within about half an hour. After an hour, I couldnt listen any more so opened the doors and put the chains over to keep them in. Then the whinnying started. Gentle "have you forgotten us" at first that soon progressed to huffy "we are here - you are supposed to jump to our command".

By that time, the moaning had started - "see these bl**dy horses".

I went to bed and left them all to it :D

Got up in the morning to find jeep sorted, horses out, stables mucked out and breakfast ready - RESULT :D

He wasn't my other half, in fact I didn't know him personally at all. My Highland Pony was being kept in do it yourself paddock livery and this darn man would play with him. Stuff like wrestling with his lip and really hard rubs on his neck. Kippen though it was great!!!! If it weren't for the irritating fact that some man unknown to me was playing with my horse, it would have been cute. So now Kippen loves that sort of playing.

Men love Kippen. you wouldn't think they would on account of being a pony. But someone forgot to tell Kippen that Highland Ponies are meant to be quiet, gentle and sweet. He's tough, keen, pulls like a train under saddle and thinks he's it and a bit. I adore him.

My OH trains racehorses so is horsy but has Dol spoilt. He does her while I'm at work and puts her on walker then out in field and I ride her when I get home. One Sat at about half 9 I went to tack her up and he came running up saying no don't open her door...."you'll wake her". Apparently Dol goes for a nap from about 9-10 and lies down fast asleep so one of the tbs generally is kept waiting to accompany her on the walker when she deigns to wake up!!

Yes my other half whistles to call them in, doesn't matter where they are as soon as they hear him whistle they come running, unfortunately I can't whistle, so stand at the gate yelling, I quite often get completely ignored, or simply looked at and then ignored.

Yes my horse now trys to use me as a scratching post and it really makes me mad...as my OH thought he was just being affectionate(to the horse not me) and I now get shoved. I had got him out of this as he did it when I first got him and had stopped.

OH cannot ride at all but when I fell off I asked if he would just take him out...the rule never canter towards home went out the window as he came back down a big hill at full pelt towards our field..really pleased with himself "did you see him go"...(this is the lazy cob by the way).
