This is Cobland's fault for posting a thread about being able to buy a Christmas card to YOUR HORSE! I would draw the line there but I DO give my horsey-o a (veggie) mince pie or 3 on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day! I read somewhere that at the stroke of midnight on Christmas Eve, all donkeys kneel down (except if you're peeking) so I reckon as my Section D is closely related to a donkey (bless!) he deserves mince pies. SO, own up now...what do you do/feed special for your horse at Christmas??? NB - all replies WILL be forwarded to the RSPCA!!!

Every Christmas I pi$$ off up north to do the whole turkey and present slinging thing with the relatives...leaving my lonely OH to do the ponies for 3 days....
He makes them give him kisses for treats (gets lonely)

At the moment I'm pretending I'm FITTENING my horses for Christmas...but you can guess the truth JM07.

That's very sad. In the teenage meaning of the word.......

I once spent a Christmas as an agricultural student on a farm in Lambourne. On Christmas Eve I was out feeding the calves and had an extraordinary experience - OK so at midnight the donkeys may all kneel down - but all I can say is that all the animals become very serene and there isn't very much noise at midnight on Christmas Eve. One of the finest moments of my life - very spiritual.

No, but I'm thinking this year that arwenplusone's mare would look simply lovely in some reindeer antlers.

I think devil horns are more appropriate, given her recent behaviour.... not very christmassy tho...
I think your Yogi would look simply stunning with a big red rudolph nose.

Murphy has a can of guiness, he will also have tinsel and decorations (of the naglets variety) sorry but living at my inlaws has seriously inhibited my ability to have a merry chirstmas, so my horse is damn well going to have one lol

poppy get tinsel all round her stable and gets a hollowed out round bread stuffed with lovely carrots apples and some feed too, she goes nuts for it

every year on christmas eve and day my horses get a pint of guiness in there feed, they love it, oh and they all get an advent calander each aswell, apart from a few years bak wen some losers broke in to r farm and ate them.

I think I will pass on the Christmas card to my horse. I usually buy them a big sack of carrots from the local farm shop. I think they would be more interested in them!

Love the dressed up pony.

I have bought Nelly a horsey treats advent calendar and a browband decorated with snowmen. My daughter has also chosen some sparkly body paint stuff to decorate her tail and mane.

I'm cruel, mine only get extra veg peelings.

I will be carefully inspecting my donks knees on christmas morning to see if they knelt down
