can anyone please give me an idea how much it costs to have a colt gelded

Last one I had done was a pony and I paid £220 ish! A few years ago now though.

I paid £300 2yrs ago to geld my then 4yr old sec A stallion who had never covered a mare before (luckily or they would have insisted he go to horsey hospital and it would have cost alot more) but that included a second call out and extra few days worth of antibiotics and bute

Why do they insist if he has covered? How would it make a difference?
