Had a phone call at 7-50am this morning from ym to say that somebody had broken in during the night and stolen my trailer, absolutely gutted as daughter and I had so much planned for the next few weeks. To make matters worse trailer not insured.

Went up to yard to see what was going on and to school Ben as we have a WT dressage test on Saturday, to which a friend has very generously offered to take us. Ben came out of stable a bit funny but couldnt see or feel anything wrong, was riding for a little while when he went lame in the front.

Have polticed him hoping that it is stone bruise but the way that my luck is going probably not likely.

I want this day to end!!!!!!!!

How awful for you but why on earth did you not insure an expensive item like your trailer. Sorry, not having a go at you but I wouldn't dream of not insuring mine as I couldn't afford to replace it if it wasn't insured.

Trailer had been insured but expired in June this year. Couldnt afford to keep both horses and trailer insured so made the decision to let trailer insurance lapse thinking that it was in a fairly secure area, behind two locked gates and unable to be seen from roads. YO lives on site as does a couple of the grooms in seperate houses.

How wrong was I!!!

Insurance doesn't always guarantee a replacement anyhow!!
When our trailer was stolen it had been insured since we bought it, and despite being behind a padlocked gate, with the trailer hitch locked, the insurance woulldn't pay out as I had no wheel clamp on it (guess who didn't read the small print!).
I feel really sorry for you and just hope the horse goes sound for the weekend to make up for it,
Good luck
