Adjusting my sails
... we found them up to their axles in gloopy mud, in entirely the wrong field, flatly refusing to move.
Thank goodness they weren't upside down in a drain/on the main road/stolen etc, and are entirely unharmed and disgustingly pleased with themselves
I do not recommend trying to find 2 muddy foals in 70 acres of gloop in the pitch dark with an ickle torch and a terrier (with 60 sheep milling about). I have mud in places I didn't know existed
When OH had his shoulders to their bottoms trying to push them out of the mud, he commented that at least they are very quiet and "well-behaved"
I have yet to find out how they managed to get to where they ended up (that's a job for the daylight and a pair of waders
) but I have to say I am mega-relieved and immensely grateful to everyone who offered to help us look for them, so thank you friends!
