Okay- so this may not seem like much but after giving up riding due to pregnancy my girl started to refuse to lunge, which was frustrating and depressing to say the least. Then this weekend we had a breakthrough (more assertion from me) and are finally doing some proper work so I don't feel like she's just going to be an expensive field ornament until I can get back on board.
To top it all we've been having fun playing with a gym ball. When she spotted the big green scary monster she was a little spooked, but I had her on a loose lead and let her follow me as I pushed the ball around the arena. She got more curious than scared and when she nudged it with her nose she got a treat. Two sessions later and she's perfectly happy to hang out with the ball and is giving it really big pushes to earn her cookies, as well as licking it and generally investigating it.
So, little things but the fun has definitely been brought back. Yay
