I am beginning to have serious doubts about Cam's abilities to become a dressage horse. I just don't understand how anyone will take us seriously. He would seem far better suited to joining a circus or being part of a comedy act. :D

Oh look - poo picking equipment - I can help with that.....

Hmmm, I would appear to have done something wrong.....

Ah ha, this is more like it.....

Well this is all very well, but how am I meant to pick the fork up at the same time?

Perhaps it is just meant to be decorative rather than useful.....

How does it look?

Please note: No Cam's were hurt in the production of this thread. :p

Love it! Gorgeous horse. Reminds me of my own daft creature...although mine would have legged it once he'd hung it off his ear!

Thank you - legging it would require far too much effort! Although I wouldn't leave the skip in the field when I wasn't there in case it did get stuck and worry him. :)

mine does not do the funny bits she just walks up to the barrow once it is full and pushes it over

My barrow stays firmly outside the fence otherwise Cam knocks it over too. :)

It's always useful to have a second career option, just in case your first choice (dressage obviously) becomes a bit stale :) He is clearly a very talented boy, I bet Valegro cant operate a poo picker!!

Ha ha ha love it if only he could use the fork as well. The most mine can do is chuck feed buckets over the door when finished :)

I shall have to put fork skills on his training plan! He doesn't really get a bucket feed, otherwise he probably would have learnt that trick too! :)

Hire him out as a poo picker! He can come do my fields ;)

He's on his way - good to see him earning his keep at last instead of clowning around at home. ;)

Yes, always wise to keep your options open. I bet there are quite a few things Cam can do that Valegro can't, unfortunately there are probably more things the other way round. But hey, Valegro couldn't possibly make me laugh as much as Cam does. :)

Have to say....He didn't look like much of a dressage horse until the bottom of your thread, then he looks 'right proper'!

Ah, yes, appearances can be deceptive. I have had several people teach me in clinics that go 'Oh, wow!' when he starts moving. He can do dressage when he puts his mind to it, honest!!! But I love the fact that most of the time he is just a laid back, comical dude. :)

My yo's youngster does this too - and he will drag a brush around, and pick up grooming brushes, and lead other horses by the leadrope - we joke he is hinting he's rather be a groom than a horse ;)

These pics made me laugh!!

I am glad they did, they make me laugh too! :)

Cam is just the most nosy horse I have ever met. He is 6. It's not that he is particularly after food, he just wants to explore, mouth and wave everything around. When he went to stay at my instructor's place recently, one of the grooms put a large unopened tub of sudocream on a shelf within his reach while she was using it and I hastily removed it. We would all have been covered!!! :)

Oh bless, he is trying to be helpful isn't he! Dae is the same - face in everything!

Yes, ever helpful. He even tried to help my fix the filet string on his turnout rug today - with his nose. Cue lots of small circles - good for his flexion though. Looking forward to meeting your lot next year hopefully! :) x
