i know plenty of people who's horse is out of work due to ill fitting saddles being sorted out too late.
my pony is in a new saddle as the other one was slipping around too much and was wondering:

How much will it cost to have it adjusted to fit her?

does anyone have any experienc eof saddles fitting your saddle sto your horse?

what would you expect the average price to be? i have the saddle it's lovely and doesn't seem to move but don't want to hurt her by just assuming it fits and regretting it later if it hurts her

thank you!!!

It depends really on what needs doing. I was mis sold a narrow saddle by a Master saddler :(

It was narrow & I was never happy but he got very stroppy when I kept calling him out to recheck it!! My daughter had been saying it was tipping her back but he wouldn't have any of it.

Got another saddler out & he should actually have a medium wide not narrow!!

Had to have another tree put in saddle as it couldn't be made wide enough with taking out flocking.

It cost me £150 and it was the best money I have ever spent. All the so called naughty behaviour (according to 1st saddler my horse was just an opinionated git) has gone & he is an angel now

I bought a saddle off e-bay that I knew was the right size for my mare (my saddler had tried the same on on her a few months previously and told me what she needed - and then as luck had it someone sold one on ebay and I got it for a fraction of what it was worth - a real scoop!). It then cost me £25 for her to come check the fit, and then an additional £70 for the tree to be adjusted and flocking adjusted somewhat. So for the price of less than £400, I had a lovely comfy saddle that fit my horse perfectly.
