So this is a post Re: Silly Filly... just a bit more to the point and more readable.. the silly filly one was a ramble late last night!! lol
The short version is my filly tried to jump out on saturday over a thick 4ft by 3ft6 hawthorne hedge. Jump being used lightly as it appears she landed in the middle of it and got impaled. She has some quite deep cut between her nip nips and in the crease of her back legs.. This morning they seem like they are drying out nicely. I am worried about thorns though. Ive been over her twice every day with a fine tooth comb since the incident trying to pull thorns out, slowly some are coming to the surface I am just worried about them staying in there and getting an infection. Being a fine skinned creature I am hoping her body will do what its supposed to and push them out.
My mare last year when down in the summer meadows got spooked by some super loud fireworks and ran into a hedge and ended up with a massive infection in her pectoral which need to be cut out. Hence why Im worried about my little filly.
She is also a little spooked by the whole thing and not keen on me in the slightest as when I try and remove the thorns it ultimately hurts her. Mum therefore equals pain and now Im evil
Sorry not as to the point as I hoped it would be!! lol
