Is anyone else unable to get hay/feed deliveries?

I'm panicking now as I only have enough hay left for a week and can't get any more due to a) farmer being snowed in and b) all roads to stables being blocked. We haven't had a snow free day since Dec 17th and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon.

Don't get me wrong, I love the snow, but two wrecked wheel trims and no hay later it's starting to cause me a few problems!

Can't the farmer bring it up in a tractor or something, or is it too snowy even for that? The farmer who brings our hay puts it on a forklift - he's only up the road though so I suppose it's easier. Hope you can get hold of some soon though - what a time to run out!

Dont want to make matters worse but they say the cold snap will last for another 10 days ish so wont get rid of the snoe/ice that quick until warms up.
Ive never heard of a farmer being stuck in before because of tractors to snow plough out etc, its the farmers who have the same prob's as you, they cant get lorrys up to their farms to deliver feed or collect milk etc.

He grows his own hay so he has plenty of it, but the tractors cannot get through, which is why the roads are no longer cleared and gritted! The council haven't done it from day one, but the local farmers were managing to get tractors out to clear the snow, however due to it being very hilly and very icey, and the tractors being so heavy, they no longer can. The flatter bits are okay, it's the hills causing the problems.

Saying all that, he delivers with a 4WD and a trailer, not a tractor... anyway, however you look at it, we can't get any hay

i know people were waiting for over an hour to collect feed from our local feed store this morning . madness as we haven't really had much snow.

Can you, in the circumstances, get some from a different supplier- or is it your entrance that isn't accessible? Can you get to a feed merchant at all, and a hay substitiute such as hi fi or Happy Hoof?
Makes me think I am VERY lucky, my farmer hay supplier lives next door

!Could chuck it over my fence if he needed to!

Had another thought- if the snow hasn;t melted enough in a day or so( it is thawing thankfully down south), can you posibly get your neighbour, or similar to throw either a bale or feed sack to you over the fence? Know its far from ideal, and it may entail both of you walking some way, but surely if things turn desperate, that'd be the least of your worries?
