I've noticed this winter that my 21 year is finding it alot more difficult to eat his hay, he seems to suck it alot instead of chewing! He has his teeth checked regularly and have been told they are starting to expire which will make it more difficult for him. He's on a purely fibre diet having 2 feeds a day of Spillers Veteran Fibre which he seems to be thriving on. He lives out 24/7 on very good grazing. I'd like to give him some dry roughage and would be interested to hear any thoughts and suggestions on an alternative to hay or haylage?
