My horse has cushings so he can not have to much suger in his diet, ive had his hay anaylised it has come back average in everything, the suger content is 8% DM {is that right :confused:} can i feed it to him unsoaked do you think, as i think the suger content has to be higher than a 10% {please correct me if im wrong}

8% is not too bad but is there a particular reason NOT to soak in your scenario?, since soaking for say 12 hours could take the sugars down by up to a third, which has to be a good thing with Cushings and its attendant risk of laminitis.

I know its a real pain (speaking as someone with acres and acres of lush grass and lami pony in a tiny bare paddock being fed soaked hay :-(((( and you might get away with 8% unsoaked as 8% isnt much more than the hay replacer type feeds like HifiLite (7 point something) and Healthy/Happy Hoof. Only you can really decide tho, in conjunction with your vet.

forage plus analyse results I think, might be worth contacting them.
I know they do feed plans based on hay and grass anaylasis as I had one done :)
