Hay and Straw questions...

Hi all,
Sorry for the silly questions,but just finding out prices of food and stray and hay and everything as mum's thinking about getting me a pony but it will have to be on DIY livery. we have sorted out nd worked out food prices, but i was just wondering on Hay and straw prices?! do i have to buy hay in a bale? or can i get smaller?! and how much is hay?
Also, straw! the pony would be living in a night and will need a nice straw bed how much is straw?
I'm in the south-east if thats any help price wise

Price will totally depend on your area. You need to ask around at local shops/merchants/yards/farmers. Yes, you have to buy hay in a bale but there are different bale sizes- some are small and some are huge! How much you need will depend on the size and type of pony. You would probably need at least 2 bales a week for hay and same for straw but it really does depend on how much grazing you would have and the individual pony's needs.
