Hi all...

I like the hay bar option for haylage but they are a bit pricey...

Does anyone use the Shires Corner Hay Rack?

They're 80 x 80 x 22cm but with all the angles I'm not having much joy in trying to work out if they have enough room at the top to feed out of so they can be fixed low down in the stable - in a similar way to a hay bar...

In our stables the wall mangers are up fairly high and don't actually hold enough but I'm trying to think up alternatives to nets... Throwing a pile in the corner tends to see it dragged all over the stable floor and promptly used as litter...

Thank you... :)

I have a hay bar, but the horse drags the hay everywhere anyway. As I feed ad-lib it can be infuriating to waste so much in the bed.

I wouldn't bother with the shires one, it doesn't look suitable for ground level.
The cheap version of the hay bar is a big piece of wood put across a corner in the stable, creating your own hay bar. Just make sure the wood is thick enough so that the horse can kick it and not damage it.
