As above really - see HHO running with story that says hay £10 - £12 for small bale. Great as that is what the suppliers will see out of the article. Sorry if this was a thread before but only just seen it - haymongering and scaremongering.

Saw that and thought it must be a poor news week. It's articles like that they have everyone running around like headless chickens paying a fortune for bloody hay!

exactly - wish they would stop scaremongering.have seen it before people paying silly money and storing hay anywhere they can find ready for when supplies ran out (didn't run out in the end btw), knew of people storing it in there garages and even their attics in the house.

Cynical take on it - Suppliers seem to be able to source everything cheaper abroad so maybe this supplier is actually buying the hay very cheaply abroad ( i. e. cheap enough to still make profit at "normal" UK prices) and spinning the story very nicely so he can charge even more for it.

There is a website with International brokers http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/105829422/alfalfa.html
