I'm moving to my own yard from a livery yard in a few weeks and am just sorting the usual out. Anyone know of a good supplier for hay, good quality is the importance, don't mind if we have to collect.

Have masses of grazing at the new yard so won't need it for a while but want to get everything in order for dreaded winter. Am seeing my dads farmer friend in Bledlow this weekend as his is supposed to be good but would be grateful for any other recommendations.

Can you get hold of Chiltern and Thames Rider magazine? There's usually a few hay suppliers advertising in there. There's a chap called David Stocks (who advertises in there as a fencing contractor) who a friend of mine uses and recommends.

No personal recommendations from me, I'm afraid, as I'm tied in with the farmer from who I lease my land. I know he has hay, but as far as I'm aware, only enough for his tenants.

Good luck with the new yard!

Thanks Faro. Yep get C&T's all the time, didn't even think to look in there! Blonde for a reason! The farmer we are renting the land off used to supply all hay and straw but no longer does as just concentrating on other cereals now. Shame that as would of saved me a whole lot of hassle!
