My hayman that I have been using for the past few years seems to have dumped me this year :( and my neighbour who has a little livery yard next door to me is having trouble getting hay as well (Plan B, had been to order some through her).

Soooooo, does anyone know of any hay and oat straw for sale in Leicestershire (I'm in Blaby) who will deliver? I have no access to a trailer or lorry and am willing to pay for delivery. I don't mind if they are the big or round bales as it will prevent people from nicking my hay like what happened last year.

PM me please :)

Thank you!

Uh oh - i'm in Blaby too. We're lucky enough to get it supplied from the yard and they haven't struggled this year (from what i've heard) but we are paying £6/bale and i've heard rumours that it will go up even more.

Had a chat with the ladies at Sharnford Lodge and they said the yeild in this area has been rubbish and they expect it to go up even further too :(

Another cold expensive winter is round the corner me thinks! :(

OP the other thing worth trying is speaking to the hay dealers at Melton market :)

Ditto this, go on Tuesday when it is livestock sales, there are plenty enough of them selling hay, either through the ring or just to passers by ;) I'm sure one or two of them would be happy to take the load straight to your yard, for a few quid, obviously.

I know a farmer in Thrussington who was selling at £4.50 per bale, but I don't know if he delivers...

pm if you want me to find out any more info for you.

know of a supplier of small bales in rugby, we have some big sq bales to sale ,nice hay, message me if you dont find any others.
