I know i know...another hay post but i really need some in the next two days!
I've rung and rung and only come up with two, one can give small bales at 6.99 with delivery, not too great when you have a barn of liveries. The other will charge £100 for a large square bale...doesn't this seem crazy?

If anyone can help i'd be greatful...it is urgent! Ta!

6.99 with delivery is probably good as heard in herts a seller 7.50 and they didnt have a lot left to sell either.

I think Kimblewicks is cheaper than 6.99 but be warned the hay is mankey, looks like mud and has no smell left at all (used to be quite nice but they are obviously running low!), must be at least 2 years old! Our supplier is almost out so wont take on new customers, as for the £100 a large bale that is crazy - could you not use haylage instead there are a few suppliers around you with cheaper haylage than hay!

Yep, agree it's manky. I wouldn't feed that! Bellingdon have some, but again quality varies massively with each delivery, so I'm not using that either.
TBH unless you can travel, I think you'll not easily find any cheaper local sources. If there is, then those who know about it are keeping quiet!

We've just switched our horses round; out at night, in during the day - we're making the most of the seasons where we can save on the amount of hay we need to feed them.

Same here - massive savings! We had hay at £4 a bale but he ran out in the middle of winter without warning us he was running low so found round bales for £45 a bale and then he ran out (did warn us) so now using small bales for £5 a bale, nice stuff but hes also running low and has a lot of customers so wont take on more!!

I have thought about the haylage route but wouldn't personally put my boy on it (too much energy and allergies for him) so will have to double check with the owners if they mind them being fed it.
