It's been a while since I've bought hay in myself as I've been on livery so just wanted to get an idea from people what the going rate is now for small bale (traditional rectangular) and large round bale hay.
I am looking for hay which is of good quality (ie not dusty) but does not need to be 'good' in terms of calorie content as horse needs to be fed ad lib and is a good doer. In terms of types of hay what do you think would be best (seed, meadow etc) ?
Does anyone know of any good suppliers in Lancs area -preston area?
Thanks!
