As title, What are people paying for hay this year please? I normally have large rounds which I was paying £40 at end of winter. Just wonder whats average this year. Think its been a better summer for haymaking this year?

Not hay, but my haylage went down from last year and I've paid £30 big square bale from a top quality supplier.

It arrived last week so I know winter's coming!

My hay prices have gone down massively this year. I was paying £45 for a 5ft round last year. After talking to my hay supplier this year, he wanted to charge me £15 a bale for 4ft6 rounds. We agreed on £20 a bale, wrapped, delivered and stacked.

A few suppliers locally have reduced prices. They don't have the facilities to store the amounts they have made this year.

We make hay/haylage to sell. As much as we’ve had plenty of grass, the window to get it cut and baled has been so much shorter this summer. It’s been a really tough season. Our haylage prices will be increasing as the price of wrap has gone through the roof, hay will be the same prices as last year.
