Hay prices

I've just had an 8 acre field cut for hay. Good quality, no weeds and should (thanks to the weather staying dry) be dust free. I wanted to bale it in small bales, but because of the weather had to go with the large rounds, which, as they're unmanageable, are no good to me. Can anyone tell me an approx price that the large round bales go for? Thanks

Thats ok, works on the basis good quality hay is normallt 2-50 to £3 a bale, and there is approx 10bales in a round one, but they are a bugger to move, so you can never ask ""premium" prices

At my old yard it was £27 for a round bale of hay. It was covered in mud and dust too >;l!!
I would say £25 to £30 depending on where you are in the country and how good the hay is.
 
I really wanted small bales but as we weren't sure what the weather was going to do, Mr Haymaker thought it best to go with the rounds. It's a bit of a nuisance but hey ho, it could have gone either way. I'd rather have good quality round bales to sell than crappy, dusty small ones!
 
It depends where abouts you are really, we have last years hay in big bales still in our shed (ready to use) it's fab and we're only getting £15.00 for it, our small bales are going out at £1.50. If you your bales are still on the field I would say between £10 - £12 each.
Mind you if you now have them in and under cover there's nothing to stop you getting someone in to re-bale them into small bales for you. You can just open the big ones feed then into the small baler and get little ones instead!!!

Does anybody know or does anyone have some nice un-dusty hay in Cambs (or near to) for sale?? I had a nightmare last year!!
